Lucy Best was born and raised in London but travelled between England and Australia from a young age. She has always had a passion for the arts as both a producer of visual art and a performer. Her other passion lies with social and environmental justice.
Lucy’s ‘day job’ is as Communications and Engagement Manager for the Australian Energy Foundation – a not-for-profit dedicated to tackling climate change. Her role draws on over twenty years experience in community engagement in the art and community sectors and sees her regularly writing and presenting. Lucy has appeared on expert panels and developed content for a range of climate change based communications. She has project managed a range of projects focussed on activating the community and implementing action on climate change, as well as emerging technologies like microgrids and solar trading.
Currently based in Coburg North in Melbourne, Lucy works freelance as a writer, producer, comedian and performer. Her comedy work regularly includes themes of feminism, sex positivity and gender and sexual diversity. Lucy has been hosting regular Queer Comedy nights since mid 2019.
