Disgraceful Christmas!
A one-woman show about being naughty AND nice!
Lucy’s solo show, Disgraceful, toured Australia in 2023. It received cricital acclaim and sold out shows in Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney. Lucy decided to take the show to Brisbane for PiP Theatre’s Toucan Club cabaret festival. However, when she was offered a slot right before Christmas – and even though the original show was book ended with a Christmas story – Lucy decided to write an entirely new show!
In Disgraceful Christmas Lucy shared naughty, nice, and hilarious festive tales of Christmases (plus a sprinkling of New Years) past!
Disgraceful Christmas launched at The Butterfly Club, Melbourne in 2024. Then went on to the Pip Threatre’s Toucan Club, Cabaret Festival in Brisbane.
Lucy’s irreverent humour and “tastefully outrageous” stories are a delight – and it seems Santa doesn’t always check his list twice!

(The original) Disgraceful
A one-woman show about a lifetime of behaving badly
Written, produced and performed by, Lucy Best, Disgraceful is a hilarious journey into the life of a woman who is shamelessly disgraceful and always has been.
Through a mix of storytelling, sketch comedy and music, Lucy shares tales of her misspent youth, her ill-mannered childhood and her evident refusal to go quietly into middle age.
Think Ab Fab meets Fleabag!
Disgraceful has been part of Adelaide Fringe Festival, Townsville’s North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA), Sydney Fringe Festival , and Wynnum Fringe in 2023. It has also had successful runs outside of a festival, in Melbourne in 2022 and Canberra in 2023.
Disgraceful was Lucy’s first solo show and was produced with mentorship from award winning cabaret star, Tash York.
“...very funny one-woman show… resolutely unapologetic or regretful… Best’s delivery is surprisingly clean… consistently funny…
Best’s on-stage persona being especially warm and affable… slick delivery” – Jim Schembri
“There is a vulnerability and self-consciousness in Best’s storytelling that is both relatable and admirable… warmness, grace and sharp humour” – ★★★★ Arts Hub
“Disgraceful is a funny… in-your-face trip down memory lane crossing times, trends, and continents. Lucy Best does what she does best – tells a story of ‘getting your sh/t together’… or not.” – Weekend Notes
