I’m not really a winter person!
| Given that I’m English, it seems appropriate that I comment on the weather… Winter has hit Melbourne, although thankfully the temperatures have been pretty mild. Despite that, I’m profusely thanking past me for deciding to head north in a couple of weeks, to perform at the North Australian Festival of Arts – NAFA. Brought to the good people of north Queensland by Townsville City Council, the North Australian Festival of Arts is 17 days of comedy, dance, theatre, circus, music, visual arts, cabaret, workshops and so much more. I can’t wait for Disgraceful to be part of NAFA, and to visit Townsville for the first time. If (you or) anyone you know is near Townsville, please let them know about my show. Hopefully they already know about NAFA but if not then you could be their new number one best friend, for alerting them to this wonderful festival! BOOK TICKETS HERE And if anyone has top tips of the best sites to see in or near Townsville let me know. I’ll hopefully have a bit of down time to explore. |

Before I head off I’m squeezing in a few gigs
– Thurs 15th June Foots-Loose Comedy
This is a free comedy night in the amazing pub – The Footscray Hotel
Walking into that pub is like stepping back in time… to a time when you went to your friend’s grandparents/parents’ house to party. You hung out in a garage or shed, on their retro furniture that they didn’t throw out, drinking and smoking, whilst gazing up at posters of 1950s movie stars. I mean, that might not be the exact vibe you went for, but I promise you the Footscray Hotel is worth a visit. It’s like being somewhere other than Melbourne, but without the travel time. There is one type of beer for sale and this is the bottle shop that you walk past as you enter!
– 23rd June Queer Cabaret at The Motley Bauhaus
You know the drill – I have curated a fantastic line up of incredible acts from LGBTIQA+ communities. We have music, burlesque, comedy, and drag.
I was going to be performing out of town at a Pride month gig and lined up Adore Handel as guest host. My gig got cancelled, which means I will get to enjoy Adore’s hosting along with you. It’s going to be glorious! I just know it. The special guest is my youngest offspring – Lamb.
Lamb has dipped their toe into performing comedy and is a regular attendee of the nights. This month they’re going to take to the stage at The Motley Bauhaus.
– 24th June Corner Shop Comedy at The Motley Bauhaus
I’ll be back at The Motley Bauhaus the following day for Cornershop Comedy. I’ve been trying to line up my availability to perform at this night since it started and finally it’s happening! I’ve heard great things. Hope to see you there.
Then I’ll be off on a jet plane with a giant suitcase full of props and set! If you want to follow my travel adventures you can follow me on Instagram – @thereallucybest for general stuff @lbdisgraceful for stuff about the show.
Eldest offspring’s gig
In case you missed it in last month’s eNooze the first born fruit of my loins (ew!) is performering at their first live gig on 18th June!
You can check them out on Spotify here

Love you.
